When the democractic dream becomes a nightmare of tyranny

It's a very long-way for Nigeria. It's very sad that 'medieval-style tyranny is still going on in the modern age turning the democratic dream into a nightmare of tyranny. Tyrants holding power over nations by preying on simple human emotions-fear.

I learnt  some of the Chibok girls have been released. What we have witnessed so far has shown how far behind the tide of civilisation the country has fallen- stage managed corruption war, opposition and dissent clampdown, widespread hardship with cruelity and violence.

History is full of the deeds of 'merciless despots, bloodthirsty and dangerous liabilities who manipulated the minds of the unthinking masses and caused devastations.
This dispensation is nothing but absolute autocracy with ruthlessness using henchmen to silence the clamour for basic human rights; just to maintain power at all costs. A complete totalitarian dictatorship maintained solely by terror, negating the nation's interests.

The nation is brought to its knees because of the greed for 'conquest and power' to ensure that a dynasty of ruthlessness with territorial ambitions will continue to extend their legacy using 'callous and cruel' means.

Young girls have always been victims of despots. Self-styled Emperor Bokassa of Central African Republic rounded up 200 ragged school children and put them in prison when he felt being ignored. The Ottoman despots had 280 girls tied in weighted sacks and thrown into the Bosporous.

Deranged Cpl. Foday Sankoh ransacked remote villages in Sierraleone kidnapping innocent girls to be buried alive for super natural powers; yet he died shamefully on a tiny wooden bench in a war crime custody in Freetown.

Creationism has always saved humanity from these heartless despots.

Come 2019, voters should demand decentralisation to help put an end to some of these excesses- violence. Vote for people more educated, more tolerant, more civil and polite, considerate;  not people looking for 'boundless authority' expecting every order to be carried out without question, in a democratic setting.

Vote for people who will help drive the democratic dream that ensures human security, human freedom and human flourishing. Vote for educated leaders who will promote inclusiveness, greater access to talents and markets, channelling resources to skills training and the digital economy to secure future growth and opportunities.

Poor societies should be worried about the future challenges posed by technology instead of silly greed for conquest and power for personal gains.

Voters should avoid ruthless sycophants competing for favours and support. Selling your votes to illiterates and sycophants is one sure way to condem already battered future.
Do not sell your votes to greedy men seeking for power for personal fortune.

Do not enter 'the mouth of hell'- insatiable greed for power whose only motive is to collect 'gold and silver' to make themselves, their families, friends and associates in crime rich.
