No Politician can claim to be a better role model

Politicians always come in disguise , pretending to be 'genuinely' concerned with ordinary people's welfare and the country's longterm future. This is not true especially in young democracies.
 This democratic dispensation has really demonstrated the grave damage the military constitution and totalitarian democracy has done to the country.

'They are not subject to the law of the land like every other citizen. They resort to crude demagoguery, always seeking special advantages for themselves, their families, their friends , lovers, and associates. They exploit public property for their own private purposes.' Corruption is for political opponents and those considered huge threat to personal  ambitions.

 The recent NNPC scandal that has hit the headlines has just helped to confirm the fears of many that  politicians cannot be trusted, it doesn't matter who is involved, no one can claim to be a model, because they are all prone to the same blunders. It's only those who want to be fooled...

 What i'm yet to figure out is why the government has declined to try Dezieani in Nigeria, when they've told all that care to listen that the woman has got the country's wealth?.
There is this issue of social insurance trust fund,etc.

 We must learn not to shout loud especially when the government simply wants public support giving people the impression that they are taking 'prompt and decisive action' when in reality they are doing no such thing.

It's business as usual, ''applying thick layers of cosmetics'' to deceieve those that want to be fooled. Senate says they have set up a committee to probe the NNPC leak, but what of the recommended report for the National Social Insurance Trust Fund, etc.

2019 election is round the corner. How the politicians will fund the election is our collective guess. We must remember every politician wants to retain his seat come 2019. However, it is your choice to vote for direct poverty allieviation , ( i.'e for your stomach ) or vote for true democrats who will guarantee long term democratic dividends to ordinary people including respecting human rights.
