Nigeria's Democracy And Its Crisis Deliberate, Avoidable: Farmers/Herdsmen Attacks in Nigeria, lives at risk, security first- Uche Okeke

This is the time to wake up from slumber. There is no excuse for our politicians to be inactive in taking decisions about citizen security and safety. Photo: Uche Okeke.

If the priority in finding the solutions to this national crisis is surrendering indigenous lands for foreigners, this is gross injustice and must be resisted. We have argued that it's recklessness for the federal government to use national budget to fund the private business of aliens who pose greater risks to our various communities and the country at large.

Today, greater emphasis should be placed on providing our teaming youths with the tools for growth and stability and this requires urgent need to invest massively in key areas of public services and infrastructure including electricity, internet/broadband to facilitate a new way of work, instead of putting their lives at risk.

In the words of the UK Prime Minister, Thersa May : "... this political doctrine and ideology will have damaging real world consequences for the security of all our people. In her words; "those who threaten our security would like nothing more than to see us fractured, criminals will have free for all".[Lives at risk without Brexit security deal, warns May, iNews, Saturday 17 February 2018]

Greater emphasis should be on the security and safety of our people , their cultural heritage and tradition well preserved not imposition of aliens with history of gross blood-letting.
