SierraLeoneans have voted to elect a new president. The country's constitution bars the current President Ernest Bai-Koromah  who has successfully completed his two-term in office from contesting another elections.

SierraLeone a tiny West African Country of less than five million polpulation;  rich in natural resources including diamonds is ravaged by poverty, and poor governance due to corruption and long period of  brutal rebel war.

According to reports ; the out-going president relied on the Chinese government to improve infrastructural development in the country but there is much to be done. A former Foreign Minister of the ruling APC party is expected to emerge as the next president as he has the backing of the incumbent president Ernest Bai-Koromah.

However, the election is predicted to have a run-off  due to the popularity of the opposition Sierra-Leone People's Party(SLPP) Candidate Julius Mada-Bio, a former Military Head of State from January 16 1996 to March 29 1996 under the National Provincial Ruling Council(NPRC) military jumta in Sierra-Leone.

The Sierra-Leone National Electoral Commission and Independent observers say the election is free and fair while the results are being awaited.

Whoever emerges as the next President has ernormous work to do to improve the lot of the country ravaged by Ebola diseases, rebel war ,landslide, infrastructural deficit, unemployment, poverty, etc.
