The LEAD Project Foundation-Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy and Development Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on electoral accountability, voter education, election monitoring, and promoting election integrity and citizen engagement. It acts as a platform for strengthening democratic processes, potentially involving community engagement efforts.
Key Areas of Focus:
*Civic Education: Capacity building for active participation in democracy.
*Voter Education: Educating citizens on their rights and the electoral process. Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission-INEC says, there is lack of motivation and insufficient voter education in Nigeria.
*Election Monitoring: Observing election procedures for fairness and integrity. We have also participated in OSCE/ODIHR election observers training.
*Citizen Engagement: Encouraging active participation in democratic systems. We have also participated in the World Bank Citizen Engagement Training-Engaging Citizens; A Game Changer for Development.
*Accountability: Enhancing the transparency of electoral processes.

One way this can happen is to give States, LGAs sufficient autonomy over 'policy and budget', this will help them align with local businesses and civil society to achieve greater economic growth.
