Dr Killian Quinn, consultant in sexual health at the Kings College hospital, London has said that HIV is no longer a death sentence but a treatable condition especially with the sophisticated medicines now available. According to the Evening Standard newspaper, the consultant said; one of the most common reasons people develop complications is because they don't know they have the infection. Getting diagonised early is one sure way to tackle the disease.
It says London Kings College hospital A&E department routinely screen patients for HIV after a pilot scheme found 32 people unknowingly carrying the virus.
