This Week in Politics: The View From The LEAD Project

Before we look to the future, we must learn from the past. "No doubt , our politics is dysfunctional and needs urgent change. This is a big challenge to all the stake-holders in the political project. The ascent out of poverty to prosperity requires a radical shift from the status-quo"- Uche Okeke.

We have talked a lot about Buhari's Stalinist strategies in Nigeria which is no longer welcomed in 21st century. His private life is not subject to discussion, even when funded by unaccountable public funds.

The Vice-President has just made the situation complex by announcing his sudden return. The truth would not be hidden forever. His wife wants to educate us about life in the jungle as if the presidency is her family business, giving credit to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's description of Nigeria as a Zoo Republic. Do we blame her?

The Supreme court has just put to end the arrogance of his comrade in the 'destabilising and normadic democracy project' , bringing in a little hope to the democratic project. He can never pitch again because of his wound.

Sadly it's only in a place like Nigeria, that people like Buhari and Sherriff are celebrated. These are very dangerous men using cruelty and greed to exploit Nigeria.

Resigning is the best way out of this mess for President Buhari. Resigning will be a better choice, alternatively the national assembly should impeach him immediately to enable the country focus on more important issues- Restructuring.

His ideas are obsolete, crude , archaiac and unfit for a 21st century Nigeria. It's long been clear that President Buhari's clear objective is power, and the cabal around him are holding the rest of the country to ransome not minding the political and economic consequences .

There is absolutely no conclusive evidence that his return will make anything better and it would make a lot of things much, much worse going by his records and political ideology.
