INEC now ready for Anambara Governorship Election

INEC says it's now ready for Anambara Governorship Election. The INEC Chairman, Professor. Mahmood Yakubu said this during a quarterly consultative meeting with the media in Abuja., on  the following discussions:

*The Preparation for 2019 General Election,
*The Ongoing Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR),
*Preparation For Anambara Governorship Election

 The INEC Chairman said, Nigerian citizens in Anambara state will receieve their PVCs in good time as the commission will start distributing at least 30 days before the election.

He said the election office will deploy 6500 smart card readers for the state election and have some spares in case of malfunction or failures. "The credibility of an election depends on the credibility of the voter register",  he remarked, and emphasised that, the card reader has become the standard for elections since 2015.

I visited INEC's facebook page, the commission indicated that the Anambara Governorship Election tops agenda at the recent  Resident Electoral Commission's (REC) meeting, at the commission's office in Abuja.
