They told us that democracy is the best system of government in the world. Anywhere there is democracy, liberty and wealth abound for all the citizens. Why is not working for Nigeria despite it's wealth in Natural resources?. What has gone wrong? Why has it gone wrong?.

Why is Nigeria's democracy not working for ordinary people, rather for few people?. What can be done to make it work? .Why do we still have conflict, killings, kidnapping, mass unemployment, import petroleum products, no 247-electricity, nearly 58 years after independence, etc.?

We may not have all the answers, but this blog is an attempt to help make some of our findings available to ordinary people who are the real victims of exploitation and social exclusion.

First we need to examine our brief history, and where we are today to look at what has gone wrong and how it can be corrected. Thanks to today's technology we will be communicating some of the world's best answers to our readers. We will focus more on the current government.

Professor Ben Nwabueze asked a very important question: "We are one Nigeria, are we compatible?

I think providing a sincere answer to this thought-provoking question by our politcal leaders is one sure way to help make democracy work for the country.

Professor Sir Paul Collier said 'there must be a shared identity and shared value to lift ordinary people out of poverty'. Is it something our political leaders are willing to do?.

Together we can find out more to help effect the desired change in our society.

The status-quo has shown that change is  very imperative. Is that something we are willing to embrace?

Do we have active civil society willing to demand change from the way things are? or do we prefer to be bribed to endorse the status-quo?.

Why is it that the cleverest people in Nigeria do not make the top?.

How can we get ordinary people to elect leaders of their choice?

Why will this failure be of huge concern to the International community?

This is why you must be one of those who help drive future change. We are on a mission to ascertain why the world's best political system has failed in Nigeria and what can be done about it.

  1. What is democracy? Why is it failing in Nigeria?. We must beware of ignorant people driven by the prospects for power and riches to to promote tyranny. They are only interested in what they can gain. You can read their anger, bitterness and frustration written boldly even in the face of sad reality. They are desperate, bullish, manipulative, evil, ready to kill even with their lips.-Uche Okeke
