We Can Defeat Tribalism in Nigeria- Uche Okeke

Identity politics is a common feature of Nigeria's politics, however, in recent times, it has become very extreme. This is not good for democracy.

 In the words of Amy Chua: "some tribes are sources of joy and salvation; some are hideous product of hate mongering by opportunistic power seekers. Once people belong to  group, their identities can become oddly bound with it...,they will penalise outsiders, they will sacrifice, and even kill and die for their groups".
