Restructuring Nigeria: The big political question of our time Part 2 ; it's up to us to fix it.-Uche Okeke

In Nigeria people are easily manipulated through their fears. According to John Harris; "People are weak. They are susceptible. They are easily manipulated through their fears. They long to prostrate themselves. They can be lead into the gutter". About the politicians: "They lie, they exploit, they seek distraction at any price from the monotony of existence...Get what you vote for..."[The Elites Concern For The Have-Nots Didn't Last Long- John Harris, The Guardian Monday 26 February 2018] . Do we have to go through this again, he concluded. Photo: Uche Okeke.

The truth is that this political dilemma we face today can be avoided if we want, if we truly believe in a better future, but the sad thing is that a lot of people are yet to get the full picture. The threat is real and there may not be better escape unless we act fast. Everyone wants fairness, but this is not happening, so we need to think different irrespective of tribe, etc. What's the point of election if we resist change-reforms, restructuring. I read some comments where they said restructuring will be on the table after the next elections, i know some people will key into this lies..., Time will Tell...

Read this blog regularly to change your world view and become one of those who think different. In the words of Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Thomas Jefferson and other founders of democracy made it clear that "...Political institutions are human constructs that should be fashioned consciously to meet the needs of the society". I love reading his books.

Restructuring of the current political structure is one sure way to drive socio-economic progress in Nigeria and we must reject any leadership and political party that denies us this fundamental right. Education is the only way to achieve this goal . Nations are limited by the destructive policies of individuals and few interest groups. I saw some photos of bags of rice on facebook for politics, very funny, especially in a 21st century, this is basically the level of our politics- direct poverty alleviation.

Instead of listening to the development community and seeking collaboration, they label us enemies of the state seeking to cause diasffection, using their die-hard fans to unleash attacks and smear campaign, while manipulating the rest of the population with lies and bribes even in the face of sad reality what a society!.

We must unleash ''a people's willpower''- an unshakable will to continue the struggle as long as necessary, the people that did these things will soon naturally fade away leaving the society in unnecessary crisis.
